Bill gates awards

Bill Gates received numerous awards & honors. He gets the Innovator of the Year honor on March 34, 2006. In 2006 he was respected as a Global Humanitarian. On February 3, 2005, he was awarded by Queen Elizabeth II for funding to the British economy. He received the title of ‘Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire.

Persons such as Gates’ probably accumulate a number of honors and awards within their lifespan. Perhaps one of the attainments Gates’ is most well-known for is being dubbed “richest man in the world” by Forbes Magazine for the eighth straight year as of 2002. With a net worth of just in $53 billion at that time, it was barely surprising. While Gates’ wealth has improved to $61 billion since then, he has released to the position of second richest man as of 2012. The present top place has been taken by Mexican billionaire & telecoms magnate, Carlos Slim Helu, who has a net worth of around $69 billion.

Of course Gates has also gathered other distinctions in his long, memorable life. Time Magazine named him one of the most powerful people of the earlier century, and in 2005 Gates’ had the honor of being called the magazine’s “Person of the Year”. Albeit he shared this difference with his wife, Melinda, & U2 lead singer, Bono.

Bill & Melinda Gates received one of India’s main civilian awards for their work to promote worldwide health and development. Their establishment, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, started work in India in 2003 to stop HIV/AIDS. It has since extended its work to areas with vaccines, maternal & child health, sanitation and agricultural growth and has an office in New Delhi. The foundation has an asset belief, endowment of $42 billion.
