air condition service

Air condition service is important to keep your AC in good shape to maintain high performance and to save costs that would have been spent on repairs and replacements. Most air conditioners are made up of the following major components:

  • Compressor
  • Condenser
  • Receiver or Accumulator
  • Expansion valve
  • Evaporator
  • These parts are interconnected using pipes and valves. Refrigerant is the fluid which is also highly volatile that transports heat from one component to another. The air conditioner basically starts working when you turn on the AC and the refrigerant goes to the compressor where it is compressed and absorbs heat and changes from liquid to gas. Then it goes to the condenser where it is cooled sometimes in some systems the condenser may be fitted with an electric fan. After being cooled and changing back to liquid the refrigerant moves to the evaporator where it is cooled further and then air is blown across it for it to become cool and this cool air is then blown into your environment. The refrigerant then absorbs the heat from the air blown and it reverts to a gas. The drier removes any impurities on the refrigerant using filters and desiccant to absorb any moisture. The expansion valve controls how cool the air you receive will be. Then the process takes place over and over until the room is cooled. This is also referred to as the refrigeration cycle. Before acquiring a unit you should check how energy efficient it is and for some of the appliances industries they offer free installation of your unit.

Air conditioner service is the regular servicing of your air conditioner also known as AC or air con and depending on your type of air conditioner it can be once or twice a year. The maintenance can be done with or without an appointment for most service companies. The appointment is usually set for your own convenience. The maintenance is done as a performance check on all your air conditioners parts to ensure that you are set for tough weather conditions such as summer and winter and to save you higher costs later that would be spent replacing a particular part. The inspection and testing process alone can take at least 30 minutes when there is no problem detected.

Most service companies offer the option of fixing any problem the same day it is discovered or rather on the day of maintenance. Maintenance service of your AC requires a specialized expert and very specific tools suited to your type of air conditioner. Many companies are equipped with a device known as the RTI RHS980 which is required to performance tests on your air conditioner and without it would be quite a task to identify the problem within the AC system.

Replacement of major parts of the air conditioner can be quite costly and so is buying a new AC system but with regular servicing minor problems can be detected before they become too much.
