Sticky chicken recipe

The name of the dish itself denotes that the chicken would be sticky in nature. This is due to the ingredients used, the chicken cooked is capable of turning pretty, and the flavor you get out of it is really fantastic. When you make your sticky chicken for your party and on placing them on a platter, you will be surprised that the plate would become empty in a few minutes due to the attraction it creates among your guests. The preparation time for this dish is about 15 minutes and the cooking time about 30 minutes. In all, the dish could be prepared in about 40/50 minutes.

You can use whole chicken legs, thighs or wings depending upon your taste. The recipe furnished below is for 4-6 servings.

Ingredients required

  • 8-10 pieces of chicken legs about 1 lbs
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of soya sauce
  • 10 finely sliced garlic
  • 4 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon thyme
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • Salt and pepper to taste


    Heat a large skillet pan and add oil to medium heat. The chicken should be seasoned with freshly grounded pepper and salt. Placing the chicken in the large skillet, cook for about 7-8 minutes by turning each piece on the sides. Add the finely chopped garlic cloves, honey and soya sauce to the pan and ensure that all the ingredients cover the chicken fully. Continue the cooking for about five more minutes.

    Add required water and lay the lemon slices on top of the chicken in the pan. Cover the pan with a lid and continue to cook for about 10-15 minutes. Now, season the chicken with parsley and thyme. Continue the cooking the until pink color of the chicken is not seen. You must have experienced the nice flavor emanating form the dish and be sure your guests are going to vie with each other to share the wonderful sticky chicken you have made for them.
