Easy grilled chicken recipes

The chicken on the grill, rubbed, marinated and dipped will never be the same once you read this recipe and start doing it. Adding different kinds of seasoning, sauce and glaze add flavor to the dish and this chicken recipe will tempt you to keep grilling the chicken throughout the year. The preparation time for this grilled chicken dish is about 15 minutes and an additional one hour is required to cook the dish. This easy to cook dish can be served to your guests in about an hour and fifteen minutes and takes care of eight servings. Ingredients required

  • 2 whole chickens, split OR 6 lbs of chicken halves
  • 21/2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 4 lemons crosswise cut
  • Oregano sprigs (not a must)
  • 1 tablespoon of grated lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup(s) of finely chopped fresh oregano
  • Lemon Juice from 2 lemons (1/3 cup)
  • Salt and ground pepper

    Preparation method

    Make marinade

    Use a small bowl and whisk together lemon juice, lemon zest, two tablespoons of olive oil, salt, oregano and a teaspoon of grounded pepper. Using two large re sealable plastic bags divide the marinade between them. Placing two chicken halves in each plastic bag shake them well so that the marinade coat well with the chicken. Allow the chicken to marinate at room temperature for about thirty minutes, but turn the bags occasionally to make the chicken covered with marinades on all sides.

    Preheat the Grill to medium

    Remove the chicken from the plastic bags and pat them with paper towels. Place the chicken skin upside, on the grill. After covering cook for about 20 minutes until the chicken is lightly browned and cooked through. Then turn the chicken over and cook for another 15 minutes to make them well browned. You can use a thermometer to instantly read the inner temperature by inserting in the fleshy parts, and if it reads 175 degrees F, consider the chicken as cooked. If you feel the chicken is browned quickly, the chicken can be moved to cooler parts of the grill or you can reduce the heat. Transfer the chicken to a cutting board and let it rest for about 10 minutes. Cut the chicken pieces in half and serve with the grilled lemon halves. You can also serve also with a garnishing of oregano sprigs.
