Does Bill Gates believe in god

Rolling Stone has an outstanding interview with Bill Gates that you must read.

It ends with an unfamiliar question: Do you trust in God?

Here's Gates' response:

I approve with people like Richard Dawkins that mankind felt the essential for creation sagas. Before we really began to recognize disease and the weather & things like that, we sought false clarifications for them. Now science has full in some of the realm - not all - that belief used to fill. But the mystery & the beauty of the world are awesomely amazing, and there's no scientific clarification of how it came about. To say that it was made by random numbers that does seem, you know, sort of an unkind view [laughs]. I think it makes sense to trust in God, but exactly what choice in your life you do otherwise because of it, I don't know.

The moral methods of religion, I think, are super significant. We've elevated our kids in a spiritual method; they have gone to the Catholic Church that Melinda goes to & I contribute in. I've been very fortunate, & therefore I owe it to try and decrease the inequity in the sphere. And that's kind of a spiritual belief. I mean, it's at smallest a moral belief."

In the similar interview, Gates said: "I agree with persons like Richard Dawkins that mankind felt the essential for creation myths. Before we actually began to understand disease & the weather and things like that, we sought false clarifications for them. Now science has filled in several of the realm – not all – that faith used to fill. But the mystery and the loveliness of the world are awesomely amazing, and there's no scientific clarification of how it came about. To say that it was produced by random numbers that does seem, you know, sort of a spiteful view [laughs]. I think it makes sense to trust in God, but precisely what decision in your life you make inversely because of it, I don't know."

It is very much strong that Bill Gates works on Moral beliefs slightly than on spiritual ones. His actions resemble those of a very religious being (he has donated more than UN for illness eradication & vaccination) & that's why he likes to side himself as a spiritual person.

In a nutshell: His work seems to accidentally follow the instructions of a belief that's why he calls himself spiritual.

He doesn't call himself spiritual because he works and follows the commands of of a religion.

It's not completely known, but possibly agnostic. Agnostic people are insecure of the presence of a god. Atheists lack the trust of any gods. Microsoft Co-founder talks to November 1995 on PBS by David Frost.

Frost: Do you trust in the Sermon on the Mount?

Gates: I don't. I'm not someone who goes to church on an even basis. The specific essentials of Christianity are not something I'm a massive believer in. There's a lot of merit in the ethical features of religion. I think it can have a very, very helpful impact.
