Chicken Recipes Baked

Chicken could be cooked into a variety of dishes using, chicken legs and quarters, breasts, thighs and wings. This specially prepared recipe is for making baked chicken breast. All you have to do is to spend a few minutes to prepare the ingredients to marinate the chicken as it gives flavor and the juice that come out of the chicken during the baking process. Combine soya sauce, garlic, ginger and a little of brown sugar in a baking dish, add chicken and marinate for overnight. On readying to cook, place the dish in the oven and bake for 40 minutes, and you have a saucy, crispy and flavorful chicken that can be served with rice and a vegetable side dish. This easy to make recipe takes about an hour and thirty minutes to prepare, excluding the time taken for marinating the chicken. The dish could make six servings.

Ingredients required

  • 3 lbs of Chicken thighs, drumsticks bone-in, skin-on, or breasts, or any of their combination
  • 2 teaspoons of toasted sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup of dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
  • Freshly ground black pepper1 teaspoon
  • 3 tablespoons of peeled and finely chopped fresh ginger

    Preparation method

    All the ingredients, except the chicken are to be placed in a baking dish and whisked to combine together. Chicken to be laid in a single layer in that marinade and turned enough to get all the chicken pieces thoroughly coated. Cover and refrigerate so that the chicken marinates for a day. During that time, you have to turn the chicken one or two times for best marinating.

    When you start the cooking, remove the chicken from the fridge and thaw for about thirty minutes at room temperature. In the meantime, heat the oven to 475 degrees F and place the rack in the middle of the oven. Turn all the chicken pieces, skin side up and in case you are using chicken drumsticks, you have to turn to recoat them with the marinade. Bake the chicken for about forty minutes until the chicken turn to a dark brown color. Set the Oven to broil and cook until the chicken skin becomes crispy. Serve the chicken with sauce and surprise your friends.

    Note: When you intend using chicken breasts for making this recipe, you have to cut them in half crosswise before marinating them. This is done to enable the pieces cook at the same rate as the rest of the chicken pieces.
