Ingredients List

  • One number of half lb (about 675 grams) boneless and skinless breasts of chicken. It should be cut about half cm strips that are thick enough
  • One cup of butter milk (about 250 ml)
  • Pepper and salt
  • Three good eggs that are beaten lightly
  • Canola or olive oil about 45 ml (3 tablespoons)
  • Bread crumbs (panko) about 625 ml (2 half cups)
  • Garlic powder about 2.5 ml (actually half teaspoon)
  • Chilli powder about 15 ml (one tablespoon)
  • Flour that is all-purpose type and should be unbleached about 125 ml (about half cup)

    Preparation Method

Mix the chicken with nice buttermilk in a clean bowl and allow it to refrigerate. Leave it for about four to six hours or even overnight if you wish. Take a shallow bowl and mix chilli powder, garlic powder and the flour. Nicely season it with pepper and salt. Now take the eggs in another bowl and in addition take the breadcrumbs in another bowl. The chicken strips should be well drained and allowed to be dredged in the mixture (flour). Now gently dip the eggs and shake it to get rid of excess. In order to coat, it thoroughly press the panko in. For freezing purposes, freeze all the strips of chicken onto a sheet (baking one) that is lined with a paper (parchment type). Nicely cover it up with a good plastic wrap. Let it freeze for four hours or you can even allow it to freeze until all the chicken strips are completely frozen. After they are frozen, place the chicken strips in plastic bags that are sealable and compatible with a freezer.

Take a skillet that is of non-stick type and pour enough oil for the chickens to be fried. Fry it on each side for about three to four minutes until they become golden brown on a heat that is medium. Now finish the cooking in a preheated oven (about 180 degrees Celsius) for about five to six minutes. At last, happily serve the chicken fillets with a fine sauce of your choice.

    General Tips

If you are a health conscious person and want to greatly reduce fat in the chicken, all you need to do is to bake these fine chicken fillets with a paper (parchment) for ten to fifteen minutes on both sides in a preheated oven (about 350 degree Fahrenheit). However, you cannot expect the chicken fillets to be golden brown as you get when you fry them in oil. Anyhow, the result is not going to be the same. You can use a cup of milk with 1 teaspoon (about 5 ml) of vinegar (white) or you can also add lemon juice and keep the mixture to mix for ten to fifteen minutes.
