The wonderful dish called Blackened chicken is a treat during summer holidays. Ingredients required

  • Large Boneless Chicken Breast 2
  • Chili powder ½ teaspoon
  • Cumin ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper, freshly ground, ½ teaspoon
  • ½ teaspoon of Onion powder
  • Black Pepper 1/4 teaspoon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • Smoke Paprika 1 teaspoon
  • Olive Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt (to taste)
  • Preparation method

    Remove the chicken from the fridge and keep aside to bring it to room temperature. Using shallow porcelain a glass bowl, mix the ingredients for seasoning, whisk them and set aside. Wipe the chicken with paper towel and trim away the excess fat found in the chicken. Olive oil has to be rubbed evenly all over the chicken. You can sprinkle or rub the seasoning all over the chicken to cover it fully. Now, heat the grill over high/ medium heat to a point it literally smokes. Place the chicken breast on the grill and after covering cook for about 4 minutes on each side. Turn the heat off; remove the grill from the heat. Leave the chicken meat in a pan covered for about two minutes and transfer to a plate. Cover the cooked chicken with a foil and let it rest for about ten minutes before it is served. Now, the most delicious Blackened chicken is ready to be served.

    Tips to ensure the best outcome

    You have to remove the chicken from the fridge and allow it to thaw for about 30 minutes before cooking. You can use a cast iron grill but make sure that the grill is smoking hot before the Chicken is placed for cooking. After the process of cooking is over, the chicken should be kept at rest for about 10 minutes, covered in a foil. These steps would enable you to cook the chicken tender and moist.

    General Tips

    Supplementation with Vitamin B6 might be helpful because the vitamin is important in maintaining healthy nerves, and it may speed up nerve impulses to your hands.
