There are many types of air conditioning systems that can be used in the home including window, portable, ductless and central air conditioning systems. However, they all use the following components, the compressor, the condenser, the evaporator and direct expansion refrigeration. The refrigerant is a key part pumping through the air conditioners system. It changes state from gas vapor to liquid as it collects heat from your house and rejects that heat to the outside. Refrigerant is special in that it has a very low boiling point meaning that it changes from a liquid to a vapor at low temperatures.

The central air conditioners have two distinct components in function: the condenser and the evaporator. The condenser unit is usually located on the exterior on a cold slab. The evaporator coil is inside above the furnace. The central air conditioner uses ducts and motors to distribute cool air around the house. When you turn on the central air conditioner and notice that it does not cool the temperature you should call a certified technician to check the system because they would need to check the major components. The central air conditioner should not only be checked once a year it could also be serviced more than that. The car AC consists of five major pats the compressor, the condenser, the evaporator, the expansion valve and the drier or accumulator. The source of the leak is then sealed and the system is recharged according to the manufacturer’s indications.

The other type of air conditioner is the window air conditioner. As the name suggests it is mounted on a window and has two parts the evaporative part on the inside to keep you cool and the condensation part on the outside to expel heated air from the inside. The window air conditioner is known as a unitary air conditioner because its parts are tailored to a size that can fit a compact box.

These air conditioners are used in various places the car air conditioner is for the car, the central air conditioning for houses and factories and the window air conditioner for rooms such as in hotels.
